This 1950's style home in Shaughnessy, Vancouver, underwent a considerable renovation and redesigned to create an impressive home for our homeowner and their active family. We leveraged the original home open and crafted an ample family space with a central kitchen, dining and lounge area. In addition, we removed the old low ceiling and lifted the main living room to the vaulted trusses.
We found creative uses for underutilized areas of the home. For example, we converted an open crawl space into a wine cellar, built an open landing into a glass-enclosed office, and added extra square footage to enlarge the master ensuite.
We built a large basement area for a sizable family and kid's playroom. Next, we designed this home to live in during summer with a large 750 sq ft deck and multi-sport court area facing the summer sun. Finally, we developed an entranceway to impress with a two-story 160 sq ft entry that we integrated into the home's existing structure.
